What in the world could possibly make this lioness not eat this little antelope in one bite?! I know the thing is cute as hell, but I thought lions didn’t care about that. I thought lions just wanted to eat and feed their cubs. Even the lion experts in the documentary were flabbergasted! They just couldn’t believe a lion wouldn’t eat the baby antelope and instead guard it as one of her own cubbies. Well, this particular lioness (and many others, as the documentary reveals) sometimes do this. You learn something new every day. To me it’s like being friends with a piece of bacon on four legs or something. This is touching story that will teach you that maybe predators are not all about hunting and killing, there more to them than meets the eye. You could even say they are like onions… they have layers.
