Rex – the german shepherd mix was a street dog,who’s life suddenly changed for the better after he has been rescued/taken from the streets and later got adopted by Ed Gernon.
From a vicious street dog he transformed into man’s best friend.
While walking outside Rex found a completely broken nearly dead hummingbird. He refused to leave the small bird ,so Ed decided to give it a chance.
It took a lot of time and effort – feeding the little bird every 15 minutes – to norture “Hummer” back to health.
CBS News made a riport with Ed:
The hummingbird named ” Hummer” became so attached to Rex,that she was following the dog everywhere. Taking bath in his bowl and playing with him.
Ed loves his rescue family and makes sure the two animals are well cared for. “I rescue this dog. He rescues the bird,” Ed told the news station. “The bird rescues all of us in a weird sense and it’s just a miracle.”
