Jesse Bright, an attorney in Wilmington, NC, filmed this incident, in which he was stopped by Wilmington PD and New Hanover County Sheriff’s Department officers. A WPD officer tells him “turn it off or I’m going to take you to jail” at the :30 second mark. A minute later, an unidentified NHC Sheriff’s officer claims “they just recently passed it,” referring to a law banning the filming of police officers.
