A lot of people are being judge by their hair lately. Which is outrageous as they can’t do much with it, that is how their hair grows. Students are not allowed to go to their graduation with their hair loose, news reporters getting fired of it as well. Hair Love, the 6-minute short film , written and directed by Matthew A. Cherry. It is getting more and more attention since its release last August.
But unnecessary controversy and injustice surrounding black people’s hair is not the only reason this film has gotten such a lot attention.
Hair Love may be a story about styling black hair, but it is also about so much more. It’s an amazing story of family, determination of a young girl and the father, love ,care-giving and hope—a story told without any of the characters speaking a word.
